Pottery, wood – carved or turned, knives, paintings, photography, books and cards, stained glass, flame worked bead jewelry, fused glass whimsies and jewelry, wooden and fabric toys, soaps and lotions, candles, gourd art, basketry, jellies, honey and spreads, plus quilts are available for purchase. The Arkansas Craft Gallery boasts the largest collection of Arkansas Artists in a single location.
The Guild was incorporated as a cooperative in 1962 to promote and preserve the traditional crafts of Arkansas, as well as build a market for high quality handmade products. It’s goal is to provide a collaborative environment where craftsmen and women could share information and explore further development of their art.
Today the Guild supports those goals by sponsoring 3 craft shows a year. Artisans Market on the Square happens in conjunction with Mountain View’s 2 biggest festivals, Folk Festival in mid-April, and Bean Fest in late October. The Arkansas Craft Guild’s Christmas Showcase, held the first full weekend in December, has been an important venue for unique shopping for over 30 years. In 2018 it will be held at the Arkansas State Fairgrounds, 2600 Howard, Little Rock.
Membership in the Arkansas Craft Guild represents excellence, creativity, and professionalism in traditional and contemporary arts, crafts and design. Three jury periods coincide with the 3 shows. Applications can be obtained on our website.
