The Stone County Recreation Complex has a public swimming pool, tennis courts, ball fields, picnic area and playground. The Municipal City Park, located north of the the Court Square and south of the Ozark Folk Center, has a beautiful picnic area with tables, grills and water.

A majestic stone amphitheater, built in the 30′s by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), is adjacent to the City Park. It is a tranquil location for weddings, concerts, or just relaxing and meditating. Contact the City of Mountain View, (870) 269-3804, for more information on the amphitheater.

A hiking trail leads from downtown thru the amphitheater to the Ozark Folk Center. The Stone County Fairgrounds is located north of City Park and used for many events including the Stone County Fair, fireworks on the Fourth of July, rodeos and horseshows, and much more.

Newly developed for health conscious walkers is the 1/2 mile loop Walking Trail, located on Webb Street, between the Recreation Complex and the lower portion of the City Park. The paved walking trail weaves among trees and wildlife and is well lit for night exercise. Parking is available and well-behaved pets on leashes are welcome.

Enjoy outdoor life in these age old Ozark Mountains by visiting the Blanchard Springs Caverns and its recreation area in the nearby Ozark National Forest. There are over 24 miles of hiking trails and 65 miles of horseback riding trails in the Sylamore District of the forest.

World-class fishing on the White River attracts visitors from all over. Camping, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, and hunting provide activities for the whole family. Newly developed is the first phase of the Syllamo Mountain Bike Trail, with a 22 mile course that winds through the Ozark National Forest. Phase II and III will soon be developed for this trail suitable for beginner to intermediate enthusiasts.
