The Chamber of Commerce is so excited to announce the New Soccer Field at the Mountain View Recreational Park. Senator Missy Irvin has worked hard on this project for Mountain View’s Children. The day of the ribbon cutting she was humbled by Mountain View’s embrace of the sport. “It all started as a summer workshop, and now it is a respectable school program at Mountain View High School!”
Soccer is one sport that kids instantly get. At a young age the rules are easily augmented to not get in the way of the fun. It’s Pretty basic, kick the ball this way into the net and keep the other team from kicking the ball that way into the other net. They run and exercise the entire game without pauses or waiting on things to happen. As the children age and naturally crave more of a challenge, the Mountain View Youth Soccer Association slowly adds in more of the rules, and kids start to fall into the roles and positions that interest them.
The Mountain View Youth Soccer Association plans to always have an inner city league. Traveling to tournaments are purely optional. Soccer is competitive, but the real goal is to teach the kids of Stone County a healthy hobby that will last them long into adulthood. Soccer is quickly growing in the United States with many adult leagues popping up all over the country.
From the Mountain View Youth Soccer Association-
